Tango for Solo Fingerstyle Guitar
Feb 11, 2023The Argentine tango is a musical genre and dance style that originated in the late 19th century in the working-class neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, Argentina, evolving from a mixture of European and indigenous musical styles.
The tango is characterized by its syncopated rhythm and intense, dramatic expression. It is often performed by a small ensemble of musicians and is typically accompanied by a singer, but the melodies of so many classic tangos are so strong that they stand on their own as instrumental pieces.
Some of the most well-known tangos include La Cumparsita, El Choclo, and Mi Buenos Aires Querido, too name just a few. One tango that you don't hear very often however is this anonymous tango composition which we can play on solo fingerstyle guitar. Watch me play this tango and get the tab below.
